History of Pai Gow Poker
Pai Gow Poker is a relatively new casino game, as he started to have success in the U.S. around 1985, especially with the inclusion of proposals for gambling in Las Vegas.
Pai Gow Poker is basically the merging of two games: Pai Gow (literally means "make nine"), an ancient Chinese game, and Poker.
In Pai Gow Poker is played with a deck of 53 cards, then a standard deck of 52 cards plus one Joker.
The values of the cards have their face value, it must be remembered that the Joker can only be used as an Ace or to complete a Straight, a Flush or Straight Flush.
How to calculate the scores
In Pai Gow Poker you can make different types of scores, we present them below in order of increasing value:
* Jacks, couples do not have a value of less value in this game;
* Pair of Queens;
* Pair of Kings;
* Pair of Aces;
* Two pair, ie two pairs of equal value (eg, pair 3 and pair 10);
* Tris, or 3 cards of same rank (eg three 8);
* Scale, with 5 consecutive cards of mixed seeds (eg Ace, 2, 3, 4);
* Color, with 5 cards of the same suit (eg 1, 4, 8, Jack, King of Hearts);
* Poker, or 5 cards of equal value (eg four 3);
* Straight Flush, or a scale of 5 cards of the same suit (eg 2, 3, 4, 5 of Clubs);
* Royal Flush, which is a scale of 5 cards from 10 to Ace (10, Jack, Queen, King, Ace);
* 5 axes, namely four aces plus the Joker.
Keep in mind that a Straight Ace-King-Queen-Jack-10 is the highest, followed by Scale Ace-2-3-4-5, and the values are different from the classic Poker.
Pai Gow Poker Rules
For a game of Pai Gow Poker players can participate in the dealer's 6, and the purpose of the game is to defeat it with a better hand.
Unlike poker, which is played with a 5-card hand, this game involves the use of 7 cards to each player, each player will have to split these cards into two piles as follows:
* A bunch of 2 cards, called "Low Hand";
* A bunch of 5 cards, called "High Hand".
It must be realized that the high hand must have a value greater than the low hand. To win in Pai Gow Poker you must always beat the dealer: a draw it would support only the dealer, then equivalent to a loss. So it is important that both the player's hand (high hand and low hand) beat the dealer!
Strategies in Pai Gow Poker
In this section we will try to explain better what moves can be useful to increase the chances of victory in a game of Pai Gow Poker. To begin with it should be noted that the dealer has a slight advantage over players (2.3% minimum), then the player must make the most of the cards so that the percentage of the dealer's advantage to rise.
Now let's see in detail the various series of the game, treating them separately and giving some useful tips:
* Hand with no pair: the player is forced to move the paper to higher value in the high hand, then you should move in the next two high low hand.
* Hand with a pair: the pair moves into the high hand, and two high cards in the Low Hand.
* Hand with Two Pair: Aces in the case hold the high hand and the other pair in low hand. In any case, the two couples split into two hands.
* Hand with three couples: maintaining the highest pair in low hand.
* Hand with Ladder 5, 6, 7-card: keep the five highest cards in the high hand.
Odds in Pai Gow Poker
Determine the probability of winning in Pai Gow Poker is quite complex compared to the classic version of poker, especially the fact that both the players and the dealer receive seven cards.
Some studies have made the prediction probability of holding the following cards:
* Hand with 5 Aces "0.00000732%
* Hand with Flush or Full House "0.00136862%
* Hand with Poker "0.00199472%
* Full Hand with '0.02717299%
* Hand with Color "0.04004129%
* Hand with Scala "0.07289350%
* Hand with Tris' 0.04846585%
* Hands with Two Pairs "0.23065464%
* Hand with a couple "0.41663862%
* Hand with nothing, "0.16076246%
As you can see, the more the hand is better than the probability of it drops. The best chance is if you have a couple, and the younger, of course, with four aces plus the Joker.
